about

Reflections on a distributed life and a somewhat unwintery winter, during a time of what sometimes feels like mild societal collapse. Of course, with spring arriving it's also a time of new hope and new dreams!

The recording process varies widely piece to piece, but I enjoy the sense of controlling what is happening, so most recordings are performed live (if huddling over a phone during one's child's hockey practice is considered "live"). In only one case am I actually playing the simulated piano, typically instead offloading it to fugue-type or generative-type sequencing. And yes, that amazing teenage engineering groovebox (EP-133 KO 2) came out several months ago, and two experiments with that have made it here, incorporating primarily long samples of solo cello and microtonal orchestra (if you can name them, you can sue me).
